Cheek filler restores volume to the mid-face using hyaluronic acid dermal filler. As we age, the fat pads in the cheeks shrink and slide downwards, which is what creates a flat, tired appearance and deepens the lines running from nose to mouth.
Replacing that lost volume lifts the whole mid-face rather than simply filling a line. We use Juvéderm and Perfectha for the cheeks, and your doctor will choose the product that suits your anatomy.

It is worth knowing that cheek filler is often the answer when patients ask about nasolabial folds.
Filling those lines directly can look heavy, whereas restoring the cheek support above them softens the lines more naturally.
Will It Look Obvious?
This is the question we are asked most often, and it is a fair one. The overfilled look people worry about comes from too much product placed too superficially, usually over several rounds of treatment without a pause.
Our approach is conservative. We place filler deeply, against the bone, where it supports the tissue rather than sitting visibly under the skin. We would rather you came back for a small top-up than left with too much.
Most patients need one or two syringes. Your doctor will tell you honestly at your consultation what is realistic, and will say so if they think you do not need treatment at all.
What Happens During Treatment?
Your appointment runs in four stages:
1. Consultation
Your doctor assesses your face at rest and in movement, listens to what is bothering you, and explains what filler can and cannot achieve.
2. Preparation
The skin is cleaned and numbing cream is applied. The filler itself also contains local anaesthetic.
3. Treatment
Filler is placed deeply, usually through a small number of entry points, and massaged into position.
4. Review
You see the result in the mirror before you leave, and we discuss aftercare. Small adjustments can be made at a follow-up once any swelling has settled.
Aftercare

Mild swelling, tenderness or small bruises are normal and settle within a few days

Which Fillers Do We Use?
For cheek filler we use two CE-marked hyaluronic acid fillers from established manufacturers:

Cheek Filler vs the Alternatives
Cheek filler is not the only way to restore mid-face volume, and it is not always the right one.
Cheek filler vs Sculptra
Filler works immediately and can be dissolved. Sculptra stimulates your own collagen over several months, so the change is slower and more gradual, but it cannot be reversed. Filler suits patients who want a visible result now; Sculptra suits those happy to wait.
Cheek filler vs fat transfer
Fat transfer moves fat from elsewhere on your body into the cheeks. It is a surgical procedure under sedation, with a longer recovery, and how much fat survives varies between patients. Filler is a 30-minute appointment with no downtime, though it needs repeating every 12 to 18 months.
Cheek filler vs a facelift
A facelift lifts and removes loose skin. Filler replaces lost volume. They solve different problems, and filler will not tighten skin that has already sagged significantly. If that is your main concern, our doctor will say so.
Cheek filler vs thread lift
Threads lift tissue mechanically and last around 12 to 18 months. Filler supports tissue by replacing volume. The two are sometimes combined, but if the issue is lost volume rather than descent, filler alone is usually the better answer.
